The Garden State offers a wealth of delicious, locally grown and produced, ecologically friendly foods.  Slow Food South Jersey’s mission is to connect earth-friendly farmers, food producers and chefs with New Jersey palates by spreading awareness and nurturing appreciation of slowing down to enjoy healthy, locally grown food.  Through Slow Food South Jersey initiatives, such as food tastings and tours, cooking demonstrations, farm tours, school garden programs, and much more, residents will develop a real taste for our state and find themselves in a Garden State of Mind.

Join us as we explore and discover our food,
where it comes from,
why it matters to think about it,
and why it’s important to work toward
a clean, fair, and safe food supply!

Every plate of food we eat has its story—the land where it was grown, who grew it, how far it’s traveled, its value to our well-being and health.  Slow Food of South Jersey is building connections among the all participants in our food culture.  Farmers, producers, chefs, restaurants, and consumers equally share a place at the Slow Food table.  Slow Food of South Jersey recognizes the importance of these local efforts and the existing culinary traditions of various communities and cultures that make up our food tapestry.  It’s through food and conviviality that these stories are best shared and understood.

COMMUNITY – EAT LOCAL FOODS – SUPPORT LOCAL FARMERS – CONNECTING PLATE TO PLANET – LINKING PRODUCERS & CONSUMERS
